I also kind of figured I’d let my husband tackle this one. There were other things that needed my immediate attention and I figured the gum would probably stick around. The gum had unfortunately kind of semi-dried onto the drum and it was not budging. A few pieces were salvaged, but I was ultimately more concerned about the dryer. The rest of the load consisted of older clothing and casual wear. A darling maxi dress and an old spaghetti strap tank top. But in addition to the clothing being minty fresh & dry, it and the dryer drum both had a healthy, haphazard glob of gum smeared on them.Īs I sorted through the load, with it sticking to my hands like it had a clammy, gooey case of static cling, I was extremely happy that I’d only added two of my garments to the load. When it happily chimed to let me know the drying process was complete, I opened the door to a minty fresh smell. You see, I innocently transferred a clean load of laundry from the washer to the dryer, turned it on and walked away. And that thinking is what got me in some trouble. Let me preface this by saying I love my husband very much. If you follow me over on Facebook, you’ll know we recently had a chewing gum incident. Right now, I’m feeling strongly that you knowing how to clean gum from a dryer… could possibly save your marriage. I’ll promise to make it up to you soon, because this needs to be shared. Hello friends! This isn’t a kooky cookie recipe or a pretty decorating post, and there aren’t even any cute pillows.
